"Why a non-tech sneaker?" you might ask. As much as we love training (maybe it's a love-hate thing), you can't train all the time. Post-race and post-training, Cam thought it might be fun, nice and tri-lifelike to have something fun for our feet. When we launched our new website, Cam thought it was a perfect time and opportunity to design and present some new products like these new sneakers. We've often said that triathlon is a lifestyle sport but, to us, if is a lifestyle, not just a lifestyle sport. Casuals and sporty pieces like this connect us to the sport when we're not swimming, biking or running. Our sneakers remind us and tell those around us a little about who we are, what motivates us, where we're going.
One of our favourites is the Podium Shoe. In big, bright green slightly distressed text, we see this shoe on the podium, as well as on the way to and from the podium. Other options for this shoe include coffee shops, school, work on casual days and walking. Feel free to find your own favourite way to wear them.
Other sneaker styles include the Canada shoe and my other favourite, the Aloha model.
Comfort - Soft fabric lining makes this shoe soft enough to wear without socks.
Customize - Removeable insole so you can customize it with an orthotic or another custom footbed.
Slip-on - Replace the supplied shoelace with elastic shoelace to turn these into a slip-on model. Perfect for those post-workout and post-race energy levels.
Design options - As of this writing there are 8 options to choose from including 3 high-top versions.
I ordered my first pair in my normal shoe size perfect for wearing without socks. I sized them based on regular shoe size, not my running shoe size. (I buy my running shoes a half size bigger than my regular shoe size. I prefer to go sockless so this is a good size for me but if you prefer to wear socks, I would recommend you order the next half-size up.
